ECHR communicates Sentsov's complaint to Russian authorities
The European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) has officially informed the Russian authorities of the application of Ukrainian filmmaker Oleh Sentsov, who is convicted of terrorism and incarcerated in Russia, the head of the Agora International Human Rights Group, Pavel Chikov, said on social media on Thursday.
"The ECHR has communicated the case of Oleh Sentsov," Chikov said.
According to Sentsov, Russia has violated Article 3 (prohibiting torture) and Article 5 (declaring the right to freedom and security) of the European Human Rights Convention.
