Ukraine should be ready for possible hostilities from Russia – Turchynov

The Russian Federation is attempting to deploy additional military forces near the border with Ukraine, said Oleksandr Turchynov, the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine (NSDC).

"We can observe active attempts to deploy additional military units along the Ukrainian border, and in number they are already comparable to those that were there in 2014, when the State Duma decided to deploy troops ... The new units they are deploying on our border are not only a demonstration of power ... They can be used to conduct active hostilities. We must understand this and be ready for this," Turchynov told journalists in Kharkiv.
