UN General Assembly should immediately react to militarization of occupied Crimea - Poroshenko
Russia has turned Crimea into a military base during the occupation of the peninsula, and its growing militarization deserves an immediate reaction from the UN General Assembly, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has said.
"Under Russian occupation, Crimea has turned into a military stronghold threatening security and stability in the entire wider Black Sea region. We believe that increasing militarization of Crimea deserves the General Assembly's close attention and prompt reaction," he said at the General Debate of the 73rd session of the UN General Assembly in New York on Wednesday.
