Crimean Tatar activist Asan Chapukh ends hunger strike – Denisova

 Crimean Tatar activist Asan Chapukh, held by Russian law enforcement agencies in the Simferopol detention center, has stopped his hunger strike, Liudmyla Denisova, the Verkhovna Rada authorized representative for human rights, said.

"After six days of refusing to eat and without being provided with proper treatment, his state of health has worsened. He stopped his most violent and most complex of all protests - a hunger strike," the ombudswoman wrote on her Facebook page.

Sixty-five year-old Chapukh was illegally accused in the so-called "case of the Vedzhie Kashka" by the Russian authorities.
