Kravchuk wants to withdraw from Constitutional Commission
The first President of Ukraine Leonid Kravchuk has announced his withdrawal from the Constitutional Commission, the website of the Levy Bereg media outlet has reported.
"I have written a statement on withdrawal from the Constitutional Commission, because it does not actually work. It is a formal body today," Kravchuk said.
He also said that the Constitutional Commission did not discuss the draft law of Ukraine's President Petro Poroshenko on amending the Constitution in terms of securing the European and European-Atlantic policy of the country.
"Though this is an extremely important issue, the document submitted by the president to the parliament was not given to us, was not submitted for discussion. So, I figured that such selective approach to the Constitutional Commission is unacceptable," Kravchuk noted.
As reported, Poroshenko established the Constitutional Commission and approved its personnel in 2015.
