Decision on Normandy ministerial meeting to be made based on talks between political directors
Political directors from the countries involved in the Normandy format for settling the conflict in Donbas (France, Germany, Russia, Ukraine) will meet soon to discuss the format of a possible peacekeeping mission in Donbas and to decide based on the outcomes of these talks on a possible meeting between the Normandy format foreign ministers and heads of state, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin said.
"The political directors will meet soon. They will discuss the format of a possible peacekeeping mission. We'll decide based on this meeting [...] to understand whether it makes sense to arrange a meeting between the ministers and propose that the heads of state meet," Klimkin said on the sidelines of the Viktor Pinchuk Foundation's 15th Yalta European Strategy (YES) annual meeting in Kyiv on Friday.
Klimkin had earlier announced a meeting concerning a peacekeeping mission at the level of political directors in the second half of September.
