Trial of Ukrainian guardsman Markiv in Italy slated for Nov 23
A court hearing on the case of member of the National Guard of Ukraine Vitaliy Markiv, accused in Italy of the murder of Italian photojournalist Andrea Rocchelli in Donbas in 2014, was postponed to November 23, RFE/RL reported.
The judge made the decision at the second session of the case on Friday. "The reason for this decision was the failure of Ukraine to join the process as a state. The Ministry of Justice of Ukraine informed the Italian side that it recognizes the procedure for the delivery of a civil suit against Ukraine, which the journalistic organizations of Italy applied to the previous court on July 6, was illegal," the media outlet said.
