Theft of state land for UAH 29 mln exposed in Kyiv region - police
KYIV. Sept 10 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Law enforcement officers in Obukhiv district have exposed a criminal scheme for the theft of thousands of hectares of especially valuable agricultural land for UAH 29 million, the press service of the National Police in Kyiv region has reported.
"For the purpose of illegal gain and concentration of land in the possession of one private enterprise, a land surveyor, abusing her powers, forged and approved a project on the privatization of 5,000 hectares of land," the report said.
It notes that the criminal actions of the official caused over UAH 29 million worth of damage to the state and individuals.
The pretrial investigation continues.
