The countries of the Normandy Four (France, Germany, Ukraine, Russia) are planning a meeting at the level of political directors in the second half of September, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin has said.

"I will talk with him [French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drean] in the near future and with Heiko [German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas], because we are planning a meeting of political directors on peacekeepers, most likely in the second half of September," the minister said in a commentary to Interfax-Ukraine on Thursday.

Klimkin, commenting on the statement of the French FM that the deployment of the peacekeeping mission in Donbas will be premature without the presence of political will on the ground, noted that Russia is preventing the deployment of peacekeepers first of all.

"He said that, unfortunately, we cannot deploy a regular mission now, because Russia is consistently hindering it. He did not say that it is premature or it does not work," the minister said.
