Austrian Chancellor Kurz to visit Kyiv in early Sept
Federal Chancellor of Austria Sebastian Kurz will visit Kyiv on Tuesday, September 4, the Austrian Internet media VOL.at reported with reference to the APA news agency.
According to the Austrian media, Kurz in Kyiv will hold a meeting with the president of Ukraine. "During the talks, the focus will be on Austria's chairmanship in the EU, on bilateral relations between Austria and Ukraine and on the domestic political situation in Ukraine, with special emphasis on the eastern part of the country," the media reported citing the Federal Chancellery.
A short meeting with Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko is also envisaged.
Kurz said before the trip that he wants to "deepen good bilateral political, economic and cultural relations."
In addition, a group of Austrian deputies will also leave for Ukraine on September 6. It will be headed by head of the parliamentary friendship group Robert Lugar (FPÖ).
