OSCE representatives visit sailors of Russian-flagged tanker Mekhanik Pogodin detained in Kherson port

The crew of the Russian-flagged tanker Mekhanik Pogodin met representatives of the OSCE mission and the vessel's operating company V. F. Tanker.

According to a posting on the website of the vessel's operating company, the OSCE delegation asked questions about the state of health and conditions of living to the crew.

The OSCE inspectors did not go abroad, as their mandate covers only the territory of Ukraine.

"The crew feels well, the crew is provided with all the necessary food and medicine. The seamen have an opportunity of leaving the vessel if necessary, and also to contact relatives at any time. The tanker is completely ready for sailing and is at the pier in anticipation of a leave permit," the company said.

According to the information of the vessel owner, the first visit of the OSCE inspectors to communicate with the ship's crew was blocked by the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU).

As reported, on August 10, the SBU in Crimea detained a vessel of the Russian company sanctions by the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine in Kherson port.
