Poroshenko to table bill to enshrine Ukraine's Euro-Atlantic integration in Constitution
President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko intends to introduce a bill before the 9th session of the Verkhovna Rada, which enshrines the course of Euro-Atlantic integration of the country in the Constitution.
"I will insist on consolidating this aspiration to join the European Union and NATO in the Constitution. Lawyers found a formula for doing this optimally and quickly. By the opening of the autumn session of the Verkhovna Rada scheduled for September 4, my corresponding bill will have been registered," the head of state said, speaking on Friday at a military parade in the center of Kyiv on the occasion of the 27th anniversary of Ukraine's independence.
He stressed that politicians would do everything "day and night" to adopt it.
