Sajdik confirms agreement on 'school truce' in Donbas
OSCE Special Envoy to the Trilateral Contact Group (TCG) for Ukraine Martin Sajdik has confirmed that the Donbas opposing sides have agreed on another truce.
Reading out the TCG's statement, Sajdik told reporters in Minsk on Wednesday that the TCG involving representatives of certain districts in the Donetsk and Luhansk Regions had upheld their full adherence to the indefinite ceasefire to be declared in connection with the beginning of a new academic year starting at 00:01 a.m. on August 29.
The opposing sides committed to undertake every necessary step to ensure a steady ceasefire, he said.
Sajdik added that for the purpose of monitoring the parties also committed to ensure a reliable and safe access to the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission across the entire territory of Ukraine under its mandate.
