President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko notes that the establishment of peace in Ukraine depends on Russia.
"The key to peace is neither in Kyiv, nor in Washington nor in Brussels. The key to peace is in the Kremlin," Poroshenko said at a forum of veterans in Kyiv on Wednesday.
According to the head of the Ukrainian state, if someone imposes "Russia's enslaving conditions on Ukraine, I want to say that this road is absolutely unacceptable not only for the president, but for the whole Ukrainian nation, since this is not the way to peace."
"Look at Abkhazia, look at Ossetia, look at all the occupied lands, see how people live there - this is what Russia offers to the inhabitants of the occupied lands. Ukrainians will never agree to this," he said.
Poroshenko also noted that the Ukrainian people are "a guarantee that there will be no revenge and there will be no return to the Russian Empire."
