Russian party, Moskalkova refuse meeting in Minsk to discuss Kyiv's initiative to swap 36 Russian citizens for Ukrainians
The Russian side and human rights ombudswoman in the Russian Federation Tatyana Moskalkova have rejected the initiative to meet in Minsk to discuss Kyiv's initiative to transfer 36 Russian citizens in exchange for Ukrainian political prisoners, Verkhovna Rada First Deputy Speaker and Ukraine's representative in the humanitarian subgroup of the Trilateral Contact Group Iryna Gerashchenko has said.
"Unfortunately, the Russian side and Russian ombudswoman Moskalkova rejected the initiative to meet in Minsk and discuss Ukraine's initiative to transfer 36 of its citizens in exchange for political prisoners of the Kremlin. Russia simply does not need its citizens," Gerashchenko wrote on Facebook on Tuesday.
