New special defense adviser from UK arrives in Ukraine - Poltorak

Ukrainian Defense Minister Stepan Poltorak met with British Ambassador to Ukraine Judith Gough in Kyiv on Tuesday to discuss prospects for further bilateral cooperation in the defense sphere for the second half of 2018 and met with new U.K. special adviser on defense issues Linda Smith.

"A new special adviser from the UK on defense issues, Ms. Linda Smith, was introduced during the meeting. She will provide professional advice on reforming the Ukrainian Defense Ministry, in particular, on the introduction of project management, defense and budget planning and anti-corruption policies," Poltorak wrote on Facebook on Tuesday afternoon.

He also expressed his gratitude to former special defense adviser from Britain Phil Jones for effective cooperation and the efforts he made in the Ukrainian defense reform.
