Two wounded in 24 attacks on Ukrainian positions in Donbas over past day
Militants have violated the ceasefire regime in eastern Ukraine 24 times over the past 24 hours, wounding two Ukrainian soldiers, the headquarters of the Joint Forces Operation (JFO) has said.
"The enemy opened fire on the positions of our troops 24 times, including once from heavy weapons," the JFO HQ said in a report posted on its Facebook page on Wednesday morning.
According to the report, militants fired at the defenders of Stanytsia Luhanska, Krymske, Luhanske, Novoluhansk, Pivdenne, Avdiyivka, Maryinka, Opytne, Pisky, Bohdanivka, Vodiane, Pavlopil, Hnutove, Lebedynske and Shyrokyne. At the same time, a 120mm mortar was used near Pisky.
"During the current day, militants of the Russian occupation forces opened fire twice on the positions of Ukrainian defenders near Lebedynske and Vodiane," the headquarters added.
According to Ukrainian intelligence, one militant was killed and three more wounded.
