Ombudswoman signs memo of cooperation with Federation of Trade Unions of Ukraine
Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights Liudmyla Denisova has said that she signed a memorandum of cooperation with the Federation of Trade Unions of Ukraine on Tuesday.
"Today, the memorandum of cooperation was signed with the Federation of Trade Unions of Ukraine. We discussed the necessity and importance of the participation of the Federation and its affiliated organizations in monitoring compliance with and protection of human rights and freedoms in Ukraine," Denisova wrote on her Facebook page.
According to her, an agreement has also been reached that the Federation will provide observers with whom joint monitoring of cases of violations of citizens' rights and their consequences will be conducted, and proposals will be prepared jointly by the government authorities to eliminate and prevent these violations.
"We expect representatives from the Federation to the Coordinating Council for the Protection of Social and Economic Rights of Humans under the Commissioner," Denisova said.
