Denisova stands for involvement of European ombudsmen network to settle issue of visiting Ukrainian political prisoners in Russia
The Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights Liudmyla Denisova plans to meet with the Lithuanian Ombudsman on Wednesday, July 25 to discuss cooperation with the European network of ombudsmen about visiting Ukrainian political prisoners in the Russian Federation.
"Tomorrow I will meet with the Ombudsman of the Republic of Lithuania. We will be resolving issues of cooperation with the European network of ombudsmen regarding the visit of Ukrainian political prisoners," Denisova wrote on her Facebook page on Tuesday.
In addition, she said, in the near future, the Ukrainian side would organize a meeting of representatives of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) with the families of Ukrainian political prisoners "to find the way to visit Ukrainians, who are being held in Russia and the occupied Crimea."
