Romania to modernize customs checkpoints on border with Ukraine
Customs checkpoints on borders of Romania with neighboring Moldova, Ukraine and Serbia will be modernized and equipped with stationary and mobile scanners, Radio Romania reports.
According to Romania's Minister of Public Finance Eugen Orlando Teodorovici, this will reduce smuggling and eliminate losses to the state budget.
Teodorovici also said a number of governmental agreements would be signed to purchase the necessary equipment before the end of the year.
The Romanian minister announced that the authorities in Bucharest are already negotiating with the main producers from China, the United States and Switzerland to purchase the relevant equipment.
