Washington not considering issue of referendum in Donbas - U.S. National Security Council
Washington is not considering the issue of supporting a possible referendum in Donbas, Spokesman for the U.S. National Security Council Garrett Marquis has said.
"The Administration is not considering supporting a referendum in eastern Ukraine. The Minsk Agreements are the process for resolving the conflict in Donbas, and these agreements do not include any option for referendum. Furthermore, to organize a so-called referendum in a part of Ukraine which is not under government control would have no legitimacy," the embassy wrote on its Facebook page, with reference to the official.
