Most NATO states demanded acceleration of Ukraine's membership in alliance - Poroshenko
Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has said that most leaders of the NATO member states are in favor of the speedy accession of the Ukrainian state to NATO.
"The overwhelming majority demanded not only the accelerated membership of Ukraine in NATO, but also admitted it was a mistake that Ukraine is now sitting at this table among NATO members not as a member, because the role and mission of Ukraine is extremely important in the defense of the eastern flank of NATO," Poroshenko said in an interview with Ukrainian television channels on Friday.
According to him, Ukraine does a great job for security in Europe and this is recognized by its partners.
