Poroshenko calls on Polish side to amend law on Institute of National Remembrance in part concerning Ukrainian interests

President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko and his Polish counterpart Andrzej Duda at the meeting in Brussels discussed coordination in counteracting Russian aggression and opposing the implementation of the Nord Stream 2 project.

"The presidents of the two countries paid attention to thee further coordination of counteraction to the Russian aggression in the context of the membership of the Republic of Poland in the UN Security Council," the presidential website said on Thursday.

The decision of the EU Council to extend sanctions against the Russian Federation for the next six months was positively evaluated. Poroshenko thanked for the constant support of Poland for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine.

The parties agreed on the importance of mobilizing efforts to counter the construction of the Nord Stream 2.

The continuation of dialogue on the protection of cultural heritage and perpetuation of memorials to the Ukrainian and Polish nations in the two countries were discussed.

"The president of Ukraine called on the Polish side to amend the law on the Institute of National Remembrance of Poland in the part concerning the interests of Ukraine," the message reads.
