Some 524 stranded tourists return to Ukraine on Thursday morning
Early on Thursday morning three of five problematic flights from Antalya (Turkey) to Ukraine were completed, Ukraine's Ambassador to Turkey Andrii Sybiha has said.
"Some 524 Ukrainian citizens have returned home," he wrote Twitter on Thursday.
According to the ambassador, the consul on-site continues to work on resolving the situation, providing the necessary consular support.
As earlier reported, the problem with the return of tourists from Antalya on schedule worsened on July 11 after Anda Air's morning flight from Kyiv Sikorsky Airport commissioned by the Join UP! tour operator had made an emergency landing at Boryspil International Airport.
Join UP! then decided to reduce the flight program to Antalya due to frequent delays and transfers of charter flights of airlines caused by a tight flight schedule, as well as the lack of free aircraft from airlines for substitution in case of disruptions in the timetable.
"The flight program to Turkey will be discontinued from the regional airports of Vinnytsia, Rivne, Kryvy Ryh and Kherson," the tour operator said on July 11.
