BPP emphasizes importance of updating CEC staff this week – MP Herasymov
The Bloc of Petro Poroshenko (BPP) faction still believes that the election of the updated staff of the Central Election Commission (CEC) is a major issue of the current plenary week and intends to continue consultations on this issue.
"I think it is necessary to confirm once again the position of the Bloc of Petro Poroshenko faction. The update of the CEC is a key task of the Verkhovna Rada today and should be decided this week," BPP faction leader Artur Herasymov said at a morning plenary meeting of the Ukrainian parliament on Tuesday.
He noted that there are no procedural barriers to resolving this issue.
"Please announce a break to continue urgent consultations on this issue," Herasymov added.
According to an Interfax-Ukraine correspondent, Deputy Parliament Speaker Oksana Syroid presiding at the meeting announced a 30-minute break.
