Ukraine backs amendments to Polish law, expects change in attitude towards Ukrainians - Poroshenko
Ukraine expects Poland to introduce amendments to the law on the Polish Institute of National Remembrance and reconsider its attitude towards Ukrainians, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has said.
"We support the initiative to review well-known changes to the Polish legislation on the Institute of National Remembrance and we expect that the provision concerning the assessment of Ukrainians will also be reconsidered," Poroshenko said on Sunday in the village of Sahryn, Hrubieszow County, Lublin Voivodeship, Poland, at the opening of the memorial of remembrance to Ukrainians who were killed in ethnic cleansing during the Second World War.
