Ukrainian poet Ivan Drach dies

Ukraine's hero, poet, translator, screenwriter, playwright, state and public figure Ivan Drach has died at the age of 81.

"Ivan Fedorovych Drach passed away today," Verkhovna Rada Speaker Andriy Parubiy said at a plenary meeting of parliament on Tuesday.

The parliamentarians honored the memory of the deceased with a minute of silence.
