Poroshenko urges BPP faction to back bill on Anti-Corruption Court
Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko, at a meeting with people's deputies of the Bloc of Petro Poroshenko (BPP) faction in parliament, has called on lawmakers to support the draft law on an Anti-Corruption Court, according to First Deputy Chairwoman of the Verkhovna Rada Iryna Gerashchenko, who represents Ukraine in the humanitarian subgroup of the Trilateral Contact Group.
According to her, the law is needed, first and foremost, to Ukraine, not only to its partners.
"The law should correspond primarily to the Constitution of Ukraine, because Ukraine is a sovereign state, and also take into account the positions and recommendations of the Venice Commission," Gerashchenko wrote on her Facebook page on Thursday.
