Number of appeals to police grows by 15-20% every year
The number of appeals to the police grows by 15-20% every year, so police officers must ensure a proper prompt and effective response to each such appeal, Head of the National Police of Ukraine Serhiy Kniazev has said.
He said this at a working meeting with the heads of patrol police units from all regions. During the meeting, the leaders discussed the organization and coordination of the work of patrol police units. In particular, they spoke about the response to applications and reports of offenses.
Kniazev noted that an increase in the number of calls to the police was currently observed.
"We processed about 6.8 million messages in 2017. This means that the number of appeals grows by 15-20 percent every year. Since the launch of the patrol police, in two years, the load on patrol police officers has increased by about 40%. Our main task to provide proper response," Kniazev said.
