Klimkin assures he knew nothing know about SBU special operation with staged 'murder' of journalist Babchenko
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin claims that he did not know that the alleged "murder" of Russian journalist Arkady Babchenko in Kyiv was a special operation by the SBU Security Service of Ukraine.
"I am asked whether I knew about the special operation with Babchenko, speaking the day before yesterday at the UN Security Council. I did not know, I was speaking [there] sincerely. And I am very glad that Arkady is alive," Klimkin wrote on Twitter on Thursday, May 31.
"As you can see, my thesis that Russia will destabilize the situation in our [country], including this way, is more than justified," he added.
As reported, at a special meeting of the UN Security Council on May 29, 2018, Klimkin said that it was too early to draw conclusions about who was behind the "murder" of journalist Arkady Babchenko, but stressed that the Kremlin had previously resorted to various tools to destabilize Ukraine, including political assassinations.
