Court reschedules hearing of appeal against journalist Vyshinsky's arrest for June 1
The Kherson Regional Court of Appeals has postponed a hearing of an appeal against RIA Novosti Ukraine head Kirill Vyshinsky's arrest for June 1, Tetiana Tykhonchyk, the spokesperson for the Kyiv-based prosecutor's office of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, told Interfax-Ukraine.
"The hearing was rescheduled for June 1 due to the lawyers' failure to appear," Tykhonchyk said.
On May 15, officers of the Ukrainian Security Service (SBU) conducted searches at the Kyiv office of RIA Novosti Ukraine.
On May 15, Vyshinsky was detained in Kyiv. He was notified of suspicion of treason. On May 17, the Kherson City Court imposed a restrictive measure in the form of arrest on him until July 13.
On May 21, the defense lodged an appeal against Vyshinsky's arrest on the Kherson Regional Appeals Court.
