Parubiy urges Israel to recognize Holodomor as genocide against Ukrainian people
Verkhovna Rada Chairman Andriy Parubiy has said he hopes that the Israeli parliament will soon recognize the Holodomor as genocide against the Ukrainian people.
"I thanked Knesset deputy Akram Hasoon, the author of the bill on the Israeli parliament's recognizing the Holodomor as genocide against the Ukrainian people. I hope that the Knesset will soon recognize the Holodomor as genocide," he wrote on his Twitter page on Tuesday, May 29.
In addition, Parubiy met with Speaker of the Knesset Yuli-Yoel Edelstein. They discussed, in particular, the prospects for cooperation in the field of security.
"I called on Yoel Edelstein, the head of the parliament of the State of Israel - the Knesset - and Knesset members to pass a law on Israel's recognizing the Holodomor as genocide against the Ukrainian people," Parubiy said.
The Verkhovna Rada speaker was on a visit to Israel on May 29.
