Russian militants mount 22 attacks on Ukraine army in Donbas in past day with two WIA reported

Russian-led forces have mounted 2 attacks on Ukrainian troops in Donbas in the past day, using heavy weapons four times banned by the Minsk Agreements, with two Ukrainian servicemen wounded in action (WIA) reported, the press service of the Joint Forces Operation (JFO) has reported.

"The situation in the area of the JFO operation remains under control. For the past day, May 27, the intensity of military operations has significantly decreased. Russian-led troops violated the ceasefire 22 times, four of them using heavy weapons. Our troops gave an adequate response to the enemy," JFO said in the bulletin as of 7:00 on Monday posted on the Facebook page of the JFO.

In the Horlivka sector, fighting continued in the areas of settlements of Svitlodarsk, Zaitseve and Novhorodske. In the Donetsk sector - near the Butovka mine, Krasnohorivka and Maryinka.

In addition, the situation in the Mariupol sectors near the settlements of Pavlopil, Vodiane and Shyrokyne was aggravated.

"Yesterday, around 19.00, during a brief clash near the settlement of Pavlopil, the enemy suffered casualties. According to the updated data, three invaders were killed and three were wounded, while the fate of one serviceman of the JFO is still unknown. The circumstances of the disappearance of the serviceman are being clarified, measures to find him have been taken," JFO reported.

According to the press center for the past day two Ukrainian soldiers were wounded in acttion. They were evacuated to a hospital.

Since the beginning of the current day, May 28, no casualties have been reported.
