Lutsenko signs motion to Rada to bring MP Ponomariov to criminal liability
Prosecutor General of Ukraine Yuriy Lutsenko has signed the motion of granting the consent by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine to bring MP from People's Will deputy group Oleksandr Ponomariov to criminal responsibility, press secretary of the Prosecutor General Larysa Sarhan has said.
The press secretary of the Prosecutor General informed that Ponomariov is suspected of committing a criminal offense under Part 1 of Article 171 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine - the illegal seizure of the materials collected by journalists and the technical means they used in connection with their professional activities, as well as willful obstruction to the journalists' exercise of legitimate professional activities.
"Let me remind you that this is the deputy, who at the premises of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, hindered the work of journalists of Internet media outlets Censor.net and Kameniary-Info," Sarhan said.
