More than 1,500 violations, 1 battle during 34-day ceasefire – Olifer

From the time of the announcement of the "Easter truce" from April 30 to May 2, 2018, the Ukrainian side has recorded 1,512 incidents of shelling by militants from occupied regions of Donetsk and Luhansk (ORDLO) and one battle, press secretary of the second president of Ukraine, Trilateral Contact Group representative Leonid Kuchma, Darka Olifer has said.

In addition, Olifer noted that, despite repeated insistence by the Ukrainian side, Russian representatives refused to provide security guarantees in the area of the Donetsk filtering station to station personnel and observers of the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission (SMM) in carrying out repair and restoration works.

She stressed that the Ukrainian side remains "committed to the Minsk agreements and fulfills all the obligations it has undertaken," and "the solution of the conflict is possible only through political and diplomatic means."

"For the real world, the Russian Federation should stop supplying equipment, weapons, fuel through the uncontrolled section of the Russian-Ukrainian border, and ensure unimpeded access of the OSCE SMM to all occupied territories, including the bordering areas where, in accordance with the agreements reached in September 2014, security zones have been established under the constant supervision of the OSCE's SMM.
