SBU conducts some 150 searches in branches of Movement of New Forces
A rally of activists of Mikheil Saakashvili's party, the Movement of New Forces, is taking place near the building of the Ukrainian Security Service (SBU) in downtown Kyiv on Friday.
The rally is being held by 50-70 people, an Interfax-Ukraine correspondent reported. Participants in the rally are carrying the party's symbols such as its flags and banners with the slogans "Judges, where did your honor go?", "Stop political repression," "SBU, hands off the Movement of New Forces."
Participants in the rally demand that searches and detentions of the party's representatives be ceased.
"[There were] over 150 searches in branches of the Movement of New Forces all over Ukraine," David Sakvarelidze, one of the party's leaders, said during the rally.
Searches failed to yield any results, and nothing that could have discredited the political force was found, he said.
