The Shevchenkivsky District Court of Kyiv has suspended from office for two months the director general of the state-run enterprise Ukrvaktsyna (Ukrainian Vaccine), who is charged with embezzling UAH 1.5 million, and placed him under nighttime house arrest, the press service of the Kyiv Prosecutor's Office has reported.
The court adopted this decision at a session on Friday, April 13, having satisfied the petition of the prosecutor's office.
In addition, the court obliged him to hand in his foreign passport.
As reported, the Kyiv Prosecutor's Office approved a notice of suspicion to the director general of the state-owned enterprise Ukrvaktsyna over the embezzlement of UAH 1.5 million in budget funds in 2012-2013.
The prosecutor's office established that the head of the state institution embezzled the enterprise's funds for a total of over UAH 1.5 million in 2012-2013, transferring them to the accounts of two private enterprises for allegedly providing cargo protection services during the transportation of vaccines and other medications on Ukrainian territory.
