The blocking of Telegram messenger service in Russia may take several hours, Russia's telecommunications watchdog Roskomnadzor head Alexander Zharov told Interfax on Monday.

"How long may the blocking process take? It will take several hours because the operators are removing it, and the blocking process will be gaining momentum," Zharov said.
