Rada to consider bill on Anti-Corruption Court most likely in May – Parubiy
The Verkhovna Rada will most likely consider the draft law on the Supreme Anti-Corruption Court at the second reading in mid-May this year, Chairman of the Ukrainian Verkhovna Rada, Andriy Parubiy, has said.
"Theoretically, if the committee [on legal policy and justice in the Verkhovna Rada] finishes its consideration in the next plenary Wednesday, this issue may appear on the agenda on Thursday [April 20], but most likely it will be the first plenary week of May," he said, speaking at the 11th Kyiv Security Forum on Thursday, answering a question from the Interfax-Ukraine agency.
The speaker of the parliament noted that after the conclusion of the profile committee, the deputies, according to the regulations, need time to get acquainted with the table of amendments and the committee's decision.
Parubiy also added that last week he sent a letter to the Venice Commission (the European Commission for Democracy through Law), in which he asked to send their expert to Ukraine, who would help prepare the bill for the second reading.
