The Ukrainian National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) will continue sanctions that have been imposed against Russian banks in Ukraine, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko said.
"Today, as the suggestion of the National Bank, I have put the matter of extending sanctions against Russian banks on the agenda [for the NSDC meeting] and I do not see any problems as our approach is correct and effective. Not affecting the interests of depositors, clients, but the state's policy is absolutely correct," Poroshenko said at the NSDC meeting on Thursday.
He said that Russian banks' pullout from Ukraine is just a matter of time.
