U.S. Deputy Secretary of State discusses strengthening sanctions against Russia, creation of anti-corruption court – MP Hopko
Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine's foreign affairs committee Hanna Hopko said the talks with U.S. Deputy Secretary of State John Sullivan were constructive and about strengthening sanctions against Russia, as well as adopting a law to create an anti-corruption court.
"A constructive conversation with Sullivan about the need to continue reforms in Ukraine, protect acting anti-corruption legal institutions and adopt a law on creating an anti-corruption court," Hopko said on her Facebook page.
According to Hopko, the sides also discussed "transatlantic cooperation to draft a "Plan B" to thwart Russian aggression" and restore Ukraine's territorial integrity.
"It's also important to make efforts to thwart construction of the political North Stream-2 gas pipeline," Hopko added.
