Yanukovych's defense to ask for Poroshenko to be interrogated again
The defense team of former President Viktor Yanukovych will ask for a second interrogation of Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko in Kyiv's Obolonsky District Court as a witness in the high treason case against their client.
"We will file a second petition for a repeated summons and interrogation as a witness to Petro Oleksiyovych Poroshenko," Yanukovych's lawyer Vitaliy Serdiuk told journalists after the Obolonsky district court session on Wednesday.
At the same time, the lawyer expressed the hope that Poroshenko will have time to answer questions both from the protection and from ordinary people"
"Knowing and understanding that there will be many issues, today, I see, the legal system has done everything at the president's behest, to reduce the interrogation to an ardent speech that did not concern the essence of the matter," Serdiuk said giving an assessment of Poroshenko's interrogation, which took place on Wednesday.
