Court permits to question Poroshenko on Yanukovych's treason case via video link from presidential administration building
Obolonsky District Court of Kyiv has granted the request of the prosecutor's office for questioning President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko as a witness in the case of high treason of ex-President Viktor Yanukovych in a videoconference mode from the presidential administration building.
The court announced this decision at a meeting on Wednesday after leaving the deliberations room.
At the beginning of the meeting prosecutor of the Main Military Prosecutor's Office of Ukraine Ruslan Kravchenko made a corresponding motion, which is based on a letter from the presidential administration. It deals with the fact that measures of increased security within the framework of the state security of the president can complicate the work of the court and that Poroshenko has valid reasons for non-arrival in court in connection with his performance of the functions of the head of state.
