Bundestag counts on German military participation in peacekeeping mission in Donbas
Bundestag Commissioner for Armed Forces, member of the Social Democratic Party of Germany Hans-Peter Bartels hopes German military will be a part of the future UN peacekeeping mission in Donbas.
He expressed this opinion in an interview with the group of publications of Redaktionsnetzwerk Deutschland (RND), the Ukrainian service of Deutsche Welle reports.
According to Bartels, if a peacekeeping operation is launched under the aegis of the United Nations in Donbas, Germany will take an active part in it. At the same time, he referred to the text of the agreement between conservatives from the Cristian Democratic Union/Cristian Social Union and social democrats about the formation of a new "large coalition", where a possible UN peacekeeping mission in Donbas is described as a path to peace in this region.
