Ukrainian aircraft manufacturer Antonov ready to join probe into Russian plane crash if invited by Russian aviation authorities
The Ukrainian state-owned aircraft manufacturer Antonov stands ready to join an investigation into the causes of the crash of a Russian An-148 passenger aircraft in Moscow region on February 11 if receives an official invitation from the Russian aviation authorities, Antonov's press service told Interfax on Monday.
"Antonov Company, as the designer of the An-148, stands ready to dispatch its specialists to join the investigation into this air incident as part of the work of an Interstate Aviation Commission work, on condition that it receives a relevant official address from the Russian aviation authorities. At the present time, Antonov Company has not received such an address," it said.
Antonov Company has ceased industrial cooperation with Russia under the An-148 program since 2015, it said.
At the present time, 34 An-148 aircraft are operated on the global market, including 31 in Russia, it said.
The Interstate Aviation Committee (IAC) had said earlier on Monday that Ukraine, as the country where the An-148 was designed, had been notified about the An-148 crash.
