SBU finds Shepelev's certificate of DPR State Security Ministry, military prosecutor's office investigates the case on state treason article
Employees of the Security Service of Ukraine on February 8 detained former People's Deputy of Ukraine Oleksandr Shepelev with a "certificate" issued by the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic's (DPR) State Security Ministry' for Lieutenant-Colonel Mykola Volodymyrovych Borukh. In respect of him, criminal proceedings are being investigated on the "state treason" article.
"On February 8, 2018, the person was detained by the employees of the Security Service of Ukraine. The detainee had a number of documents with him, including a certificate of an employee of the so-called Ministry of State Security of the Donetsk People's Republic. With regard to this person, the Main Military Prosecutor's Office conducts pretrial investigation under Part 1 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (high treason)," Prosecutor General Larysa Sarhan wrote on her Facebook page.
