Iryna Lutsenko asks parliament to decide on date of report by NBU governor
The Ukrainian president's representative in the Verkhovna Rada, Iryna Lutsenko, has asked the parliament to determine the date of a report to be delivered by Governor of the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) Valeriya Gontareva.
"We ask factions to make the decision and soon hold consultations with candidate for this post [Yakiv Smoliy] so as not to delay the appointment process," she said at a meeting of the parliament's conciliatory council of the heads of factions, committees and groups in Kyiv on Monday.
She also asked MPs to call the date of the report by Gontareva in the Rada.
"Valeriya Gontareva is ready to report in parliament on her activities. I ask you to decide on the date when this can be considered in the coming parliamentary weeks," Lutsenko said.
As reported, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko submitted a motion to the Verkhovna Rada on Gontareva's dismissal as NBU governor and Smoliy's appointment to this post.
