Ukrhydroenergo posts 14.4% rise in electricity output in 2017
Private joint-stock company Ukrhydroenergo saw a 14.4% rise in electricity generation in 2017, to 9.969 billion kWh.
According to Interfax-Ukraine's calculations using data from the Energy and Coal Industry Ministry of Ukraine, generation by Dniprovska hydroelectric power plant (HPP) was 2.982 billion kWh (15.8% up on 2016), Kremenchuk HPP – 1.196 billion kWh (10.8% up), Kakhovka HPP – 1.157 billion kWh (10% up), Kyivska HPP – 1.019 billion kWh (29.8% up), Dnistrovska HPP – 672.114 million kWh (51.5%), Dnistrovska hydroelectric pumped storage power plant – 1.241 billion kWh (3.7% down) and Kyivska hydroelectric pumped storage power plant – 163.328 million kWh (13.1% up).
Ukrhydroenergo operates all large hydroelectric power stations located in the Ukrainian sections of the Dnipro and Dniester rivers. The total installed capacity of the company's hydroelectric power plants is 5,745 MW. The state represented by the Ministry of Energy and Coal Industry fully owns the company's shares.
