Pharmacy sales in Ukraine 19% up in 2017
Pharmacy sales in Ukraine in 2017 in monetary terms increased by 19% compared with 2016, to UAH 68.271 billion.
Business Credit company told Interfax-Ukraine in natural terms the sales over the past year rose by 12%, to 1.513 billion packs.
According to the company, in particular, retail sales of medicines in 2017 in monetary terms increased by 19%, to UAH 54.653 billion, in natural terms by 12%, to 942.777 million packs.
The average weighted price of goods in the pharmacy basket in 2017 amounted to UAH 45.12 for a package, medicines UAH 58 per pack.
Business Credit notes due to a new range of goods the turnover grew by 2%, average prices by 5%.
At the same time, according to the company's analysts, the growth of prices in the retail pharmacy market was moderate and below the exchange rate dynamics.
They said in the main categories of the pharmacy basket, goods shifted towards more expensive items, except for the categories "cosmetics" and "medical bandaging materials," in which people began to buy cheaper goods.
