Tymoshenko, Poroshenko lead in presidential poll – survey
Leader of the Batkivschyna Party Yulia Tymoshenko and incumbent Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko lead the survey conducted by the Democratic Initiatives Foundation named after Ilko Kucheriv, conducted jointly with the Kyiv-based Rasumkov Center's sociological service.
According to survey date released in Kyiv on Tuesday during a press conference at a press conference hosted by Interfax-Ukraine, some 8.7% of respondents said they would vote for Tymoshenko if the election was held next Sunday, while 7.6% said they would support Poroshenko. Some 5.8% supported Civil Position Party leader Anatoliy Hrytsenko or For Life Party leader Vadym Rabinovich.
The nationwide survey was conducted from December 15 to December 19 in all regions of Ukraine, except for Crimea and occupied areas of Luhansk and Donetsk regions. Persons over the age of 18 participated in the poll. The theoretical margin of error of the poll does not exceed 2.3%.
